Walking In Step with the Spirit : Galatians 5 : 16 - 26
Good Morning Sisters in Christ & Happy#ThoughtfulTuesday!
Praying for you as the Lord continues to renew and redeem you by the Spirit and through His Word. May your heart and mind be set on things above and desire to do all things for the glory of God. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Galatians 5: 16 - 26 ESV
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Thought: In Christ, we have been freed and now live by the Spirit. Therefore, we get to also live in STEP with the Spirit, putting to death all of the evil desires and passions of the flesh and being renewed daily by the Spirit.
Now that is a lofty thought--one that is worth meditating on as we seek to live more like Christ! In fact, I encourage you today to analyze and reflect on the ways you intentionally say "yes" to the daily goal of "keeping in step" with the Holy Spirit and putting on the Truth of God (Galatians 5:22) as your strength and power.
And REST IN THIS...You don't have to do this ALONE!
A beautiful part of this daily "putting on" and "taking off" is that we don't have to do this alone or with/by our own strength. God's word says that his mighty grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9) and more than enough for you. So, we can stand with the Boldness of the Holy Spirit and the Power of Christ that is forever made perfect in our weakness.
He is with you!
He is FOR YOU!
And He will protect you always!
Remembering 'Gal. 5:24-25' as Our Firm Foundation: "And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit"
