A Song for the Age| God a Present HELP, Refuge and Strength: Psalm 46:1

This first week of January 2021 has come with a renewed sense of angst and disturbance both visually and physically. Our concern, worry, and disgust may vary and range from mild to extreme and those real life-pinching emotions cannot---must not be ignored; however, as we deal with them in a healthy manner, this very serves us well as a balm-remedy that tethers the soul man to truths that transcend our earthly experience.

YES, we need and will continue to need desperately a REFUGE and STRENGTH that is beyond our human comprehension and energies to stand up to adversity seen and unseen. We will...we must run to the place of great resource and power, and that shelter is in the ARMS of the ALMIGHTY.

We must pillow ourselves in the shoulder of the Savior and Redeemer and find clear air, crisp and serene that we may breathe again. If not, you will succumb to the tyranny of the enemy. Be certain, there's an enemy who is promoting this unholy war, where men have become his puppet. While men must (will, as God is the righteous judge) answer for the consequences of their deeds; DO NOT MISS the true agitator, motivator, puppet master who lurks in the dark seeking whom to steal from, destroy and kill. The great deceiver himself, the thief, the accuser.  We are better able to strategically and victoriously defeat the enemy of the day by leaning into God who is our refuge and strength. Acknowledging and accessing him as our present and only help, rather than on human strength and understanding is how we are sustained.

Feeling overwhelmed already in the New Year?  We are certainly living in a time when so much is happening and occurring overnight that being perplexed, stunned, overwhelmed, fearful, worrisome, and anxious is not an absurd thought or emotional location to be in.  The encouragement here is to Seek out God who is your refuge and strength. Search for him, and he promises to be found.
