Lent ends April 9, 2020 | How are you doing with your study?
Hey sisters, I'm so glad for the few who took this journey with me! We are almost there, keep persevering through this study, or the one you've chosen.
During this season, when the COVID-19 has ravished our lives with a new awareness to not take our simple pleasures for granted, and reports of fataliies rise rapidly from day to day, the truths of the Gospel are especially sweeter and more stabilizing in these uncertain times.
The last few weeks of this particular devotional has been refreshing restorative for the weary soul, as we study the healings, teachings, parables of Jesus. A beautiful tapestry of God at work in Christ set ablaze many promises and cemented a HOPE that Christ can be trusted to still heal, teach and guide us in us every season of life.
As we move closer to the close of Lent, we embark upon HOLY WEEK- Palm Sunday, the week leading up to Easter Sunday, tomorrow April 5, 2020, and our hearts will turn to the majestic justice of God, the amazing great work that God will do through his precious and beloved Son Jesus Christ.
Have you been so distracted the pandemic, that you've forgetten where we are on the Lent Lent calendar? You're not alone, so many are distracted by fears of this wildfire virus, that knows no bounds and seems to be the grim reaper itself. Others, millions are distracted with job losses, future plans broken and dreams deferred. Still, multitudes are worried and anxieties for what's next as they bury their dead. So, we dont take it lightly that thisbusbsrious and quite an attention gripper, yet, while we dangle from the soul jerking realities of COVID-19, we must not lose sight of the greater story it distract us from, that is, that there is ONE whose blood washed away our sins, and made a way for us to be reconciled to God the Father. Whether we contract COVID-19 or not, and even with the loss of earthly possessions; this hard truth endures, our soul needs a Savior. That at final breath (before COVID-19 pandemic), during or later down the road, we can leave this world at peace knowing our souls are at rest in Christ, our truest antidote for healing, safety and an eternity without pain, suffering, and heartache.
May your Holy Week reflections draw you closer to your Redeemer, for he lives and will continue to light your path of truth, enable you to stand firm no matter what comes, he will make you brave and courage, as he quiets the wind and waves. More importantly, he stands at the door with a warm welcome of blessings, comfort, and care. This Redeemer is Christ our Lord and Savior.
A Blessed Holy Week to all!
