Let's Get Together and Give Thanks
... About Saturday evening, November 16, 2019
Though an impromptu gathering, organized within a week, our time together was a good and timely reunion. I was sad that many of our other Gospel friends had conflicts in their schedules; yet, while we missed them, boy-o-boy, the ladies that gathered made my evening. We gathered and had some delicious food, sweet fellowship, caught up on all the happenings in each other's lives (it's been 3-4 years since many have seen each other), shared some fears and tears, and closed in encouraging prayers.
The richness of community flows deep and wide connecting these hearts in a melodious weaving of shared experiences. This gathering, overdue as it may be, made us all realize how needed a space that allows for Gospel-based encouragement and accountability is a vital part of Christian development. While we encourage these women to be anchored in the fabric of their local churches, investing, building and gleaning there; however, we also realize that not every woman connects with the given format of Women's ministry that exists in their local church or may not feel served in that context mostly; so, this is where and when the refreshing of Women in Fellowship and Encouragement Ministries comes along to partner with them in living out the gospel with grace and joy. It has been one of our core principles to not be a replacement for living in the community of the local church; rather, be a resource that encourages and empowers women to live out the gospel within and out of the brick and mortar setting of a church. It is that with this encouragement get a better understanding of how they are needed to build and grow in the local church.
Through our core values of Engaging in the Word of God, and utilizing it as the source of wisdom and knowledge; Encouraging one another to walk daily in truth and love based on the scriptures; Equipping by providing relationship opportunities-gatherings for the purpose of modeling the Christian disciplines such as Prayer, Studying, Comprehending and Applying Scripture, Worship , Fasting, Serving and Journaling; and Empowering to live in the freedoms of Christ's sacrificial love.
This is such a beautiful call to walk with other believers along life's journey. Life can be hard and none of us should travel this road alone; simultaneously, it can be also glorious and you need friends to cheer you on. I am blessed to do this kind of work!
