 Gospel Unity  -Read Galatians 2:1-10

Sunday mornings at The Cross Way Ministries is simply aimed at provoking the soul to delight more in what Christ has done for us-once and for all! We preach and teach Christ Alone!
‪#‎TheWORD‬ read it often and out loud

POINTS TO TAKE AWAY:

  • Gospel Unity has huge stakes for the 21st Century Church
Paul's trip up to Jerusalem may seem of distant concern to the 21st century church; however, his visit and concern may even pose a greater and higher concern for us. The stakes are higher- because we face a grave danger of being dis-unified in the Gospel today. The body of Christ must always remember the call to be unified in the articulation of the Gospel, and the mission of the gospel.

  • The Gospel ensures Freedom in Christ, Cultural and Emotional

Cultural:- Religion based on morals, push for its members to adopt or conform to specific rules and regulations on a daily basis. It says, that salvation depends on obeying the rules. To be truly saved, would mean these rules are very specific, do-able and clear.
This type of living leads to separations and lacks diversity that the Gospel message teaches, Unity in Christ. People from diverse backgrounds couldn't blend together as prescribed by the gospel, instead, they'd have to adopt or conform to the cultural regulations of Jewish law; hence create sub-groups among subgroups of Christians.

Emotional:- Christians are freed from the treadmill of keeping moral law as a means for relationship with God. Though we are not free from the imperatives of the Ten Commandments, we are free from it being a system of our salvation.  We obey God not out of fear and insecurity of of standing before him, rather, we obey in freedom of gratitude to Him.

...And Deeper Still- Reflections

Have you been tempted to think that your performance counts towards your salvation? What caused you to think this way?
