Seeking Him Lsn:7 OBEDIENCE-The Acid Test of Love

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (John 14:15)

Self Examination & Reflection:-

7 The law of the LORD is perfect,

reviving the soul;

the testimony of the LORD is sure,

making wise the simple;

8 the precepts of the LORD are right,

rejoicing the heart;

the commandment of the LORD is pure,

enlightening the eyes;

9 the fear of the LORD is clean,

enduring forever;

the rules of the LORD are true,

and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold,

even much fine gold;

sweeter also than honey

and drippings of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.

What are the blessed "rewards" of knowing and obeying God's Word based on your study of Psalm 19?

I am so grateful that God's words are true and perfect. In keeping them obediently my soul is revived and renew by the truth it brings to bear! How wonderful that God;s words brings preventative care, if we study and take HIs words to heart, we are warned; therefore some of the post consequesnces of disobedience are eliminated!
I am paused by Ps. 19 everytime I read it; it heralds me to immediate evaluation of my state of obedience to the Lord. It searched my heart to reflect it's state of immediate response to God's decrees and statues. I am often left questioning my motives for obeying, are they heart deep our performance based?

How gracious of the Lord, in this season of my life when I so seek after him and desire his presence; for him to remind me that above all I can do in HIS name, what pleases HIM the most is my immediate, non pause or hestitated OBEDIENCE!

KEY POINT , pg 129: " Obedience is foundational to the Christian Life.

I hope that I am doing this right. Chapter 1
I was blessed by chapter 1. The question was who needs revival? I DO!!! My walk has become so stale, I have let the cares of this life enter in. I have lost focus on God and I started paying to much attention to situations and circumstances. I NEED A REVIVAL!!!!. I have been ungrateful and unyielded in many areas of my life. I have been almost obedient= disobedience. I am ready to submit to God so he can do a NEW THING in me! I AM READY FOR REVIVAL!!!

Amen! Nadine, after reading your post, I decided to go back and review all of our earlier comments.
One of the amazing things about our God is that He continues to call us. He desires to have fellowship with me and I am yet amazed by His grace. And since, "Responding to God is more important than whatever you were planning on doing next" (one of my fav lines from this book), I am making the time to be still today.
I am remembering that I am here to know God and make Him known. That's it. All the rest are perks. ;-) I get to do this and I get to do that just because God is good!
Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments. Let's show love. Let's practice our obedience.

"Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!"

This is my third time trying to post this blog on HUMILITY. Each time I do it, I lose it before I can post it.

This chapter is not one you can rush through at all. It has blessed me in more ways than one. I thought I was humble, I've been told that I was a humble person. After reading this chapter and doing the section on "Making it Personal" I've found out that I still had a ton of work to do. God has been showing me, ME, And it is not pretty. I've been walking in a false humility. THAT'S WHY I NEED REVIVAL. I need God to MAKE ME OVER AGAIN. I have let me get in the way. How can I begin to trust him if I'm in the way. REFUSING TO FOLLOW SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!

Out of the 30 character traits listed, I found myself in over half. I thought, "THAT'S NOT ME!!" God had to show me my actions or situations that my response show PRIDE. I need to and I am ready for God to take me back to the drawing board. First thing on my agenda, I have to handle some unfinished business, so that I can begin to move forward in God. That's what I love about God, He loves you until you get it right!! Thank you Daddy for sending a revival, and letting it begin with me.

(Create in me a Clean Heart, Oh God and renew a RIGHT Spirit within ME)!!!!
