Prayer...NOT AN ELECTIVE, BUT A REQUIREMENT

As I spoke to a friend yesterday...and I heard her present conversation about faith and prayer I was so encouraged by her words that spurred me to dig, dig deeper in prayer.

She herald a call to my spirit that demanded more than a meager attempt at praying. So many times we find ourselves quoting scripture and praying almost trying to convince ourselves ( our flesh) that we are okay, BUT where is the true fruits laboring in prayer.

I am guilty of taking prayer as a convenient elective to life's daily course. Depending on the menu dished up for the day, then that determines to intensity and fever of prayer. Why?...  How can this be, when I so desperately need the Savior's love, mercy, grace, protection, guidance. Why, do I choose (yes, it is a choice) to ignore Heaven's provision for my life's journey.

Prayer is the gateway, telephone line,' beam me up scotie', power source connection to our King and Lord. When the counsel of friends, and family are few or even fail, we have a blessed assurance that God hears and answers our call.

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Psalm 50:15 ...and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Psalm 91:15  He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

...and there are more scriptures that declares God's faithful answer to our call...no matter how far we have strayed, our how lost we feel, or a far of God seems to us. We can experience reconciliation through prayer. Coming to the Lord and laying our all at his feet, and declaring he is our all in all.

This post is dedicated to my dear, passionate in prayer friend Rosetta BW. I love you and your consistent pursuit for Godliness.
