Transparency Series Pt. 1: Can We Talk
Last evening a small group of 30 plus women gathered at the Crowne Plaza, City Line Avenue for a momemtus evening of Fellowship and Encourage. I have come to know and experience contagious nature of encouragement first hand. There is an electricy that surges through a setting that is highly charged with fellowship and women encouraging one another.
Our topic to take to task is the idea of living more transparent lives for God's glory, for the advancement of the gospel and for the encouragement of others. But, can we do it? that is, Can we allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough so that our life stories become a catalyst of hope and encouragement? Well, we gathered with the purpose of investigating such a lofty yet simple idea.
What Do We Mean when we use the word TRANSPARENCY? Well, it simply means the following:
- Naked and unashamed
- to see through me
- to be vulnerable
- Taking off the mask
Many women have a sickness? You are saying to yourself, “I’m not sick” ...but you are!
It’s a sickness that is feeds in darkness, and isolation. It is the deficiency of true fellowship and encouragement.
We are from different walks of life, have many different stories, but when I take a closer look, we all have the same need: the need to connect, to relate, to be engaged, to be empowered, to be equipped and to be encouraged. Praise God! I am happy to say the evening was explosive! We had an awesome-awesome time of fellowship and fun! Thanks ladies, you showed up strong !
